What to know before your mole/nevus excision with margins
If you've already had a biopsy or exam finding that needs margins removed, we'll make sure your specialist has it before your visit, so they can walk you through what it means right away. If you haven't had that evaluation yet, the specialist can examine it and determine whether excision with margins is needed.
Removing a lesion with margins means also removing some surrounding tissue, to make sure nothing concerning is left behind — done under local anesthesia
Everything removed goes to pathology, and your specialist will go over the results and next steps with you
