What is the Climara?

The Climara is a transdermal hormone therapy used to treat symptoms of menopause including hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, and mood changes caused by declining estrogen levels. It delivers estradiol—the primary form of estrogen—continuously through the skin, bypassing the digestive system and liver for a steadier hormone level compared to oral estrogen. Depending on the formulation, patches are changed once or twice weekly. For women with a uterus, a progestin is typically prescribed alongside it to protect the uterine lining.
