What is Transderm Scop?

Transderm Scop is a prescription patch worn behind the ear to prevent nausea and vomiting associated with motion sickness or recovery from anesthesia and surgery. It delivers scopolamine—an anticholinergic medication—continuously through the skin over 72 hours, providing sustained nausea prevention without the need to take repeated pills. It works by blocking the nerve signals from the inner ear that trigger the brain's vomiting reflex when the body perceives motion. It should be applied several hours before travel or a procedure for best effect.

Scopolamine blocks muscarinic receptors in the vestibular system and the brain's vomiting center, preventing the motion-related signals from the inner ear that initiate nausea and vomiting.

72-hour continuous delivery

The transdermal patch delivers a steady, low-level dose through the skin for up to 3 days—providing sustained protection throughout extended travel without requiring repeated dosing.
