What is Solosec?

Solosec is a single-dose oral antibiotic prescribed to treat bacterial vaginosis (BV) and trichomoniasis in adults. It's taken as one packet of granules—sprinkled onto soft food and swallowed—making it one of the most convenient treatment options available for these infections. Solosec is a nitroimidazole antibiotic that works by disrupting the DNA of the bacteria or parasites causing the infection. The single-dose format removes the compliance challenge of multi-day antibiotic courses while still delivering effective treatment.

Solosec enters bacterial and protozoal cells and damages their DNA, preventing the organisms from replicating and effectively eliminating the infection at its source.
