What is Qulipta?

Qulipta is a prescription oral CGRP receptor antagonist taken daily to prevent episodic and chronic migraines in adults. Unlike triptans and other acute migraine treatments that stop an attack once it starts, Qulipta is designed to reduce how often migraines happen in the first place. It works by blocking the CGRP receptor—preventing the calcitonin gene-related peptide from triggering the inflammatory cascade that initiates migraines. Taken once daily as a tablet, it begins reducing migraine frequency within the first month and is one of the most convenient preventive options available, with no injection required.
