Nasal polypectomy

If nasal polyps are affecting your breathing or sense of smell, a specialist can evaluate whether removal is the right next step. A General Medicine clinician reviews your history and builds a referral request, so your in-person visit starts without delay. If something's missing, we handle it before you go.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral to book?

Whether virtual or in person, you never need a referral before booking a visit with General Medicine. For in-person visits, we reach out to specialists near you to schedule your appointment. Tell us who you'd prefer, or let us choose for you — either way, we confirm they're in-network before booking. If that specialist requires a referral, our clinical team reviews your health history and symptoms, and if it all lines up, creates a referral for you before we book. That referral is yours to keep, whether we book for you or you take it somewhere else.

How does pricing work?

Before checkout, you'll see an estimated cash and insurance price based on your specialist and plan, but you won't pay until your visit — and that amount may shift with your care needs. All you pay today is $45. $15 covers a General Medicine clinician reviewing your info and providing a referral. $30 covers scheduling coordination: confirming the specialist's in-network, booking a time that works for you, and sending your history ahead. These fees aren't covered by insurance, but are FSA/HSA eligible.

Does this visit include the actual procedure?

This visit gets you seen and evaluated by a specialist who can perform a nasal polypectomy. Some procedures happen the same day; others are scheduled separately based on what you and your specialist decide. They'll walk you through what's next.

What's recovery like after nasal polyp removal?

Most people resume normal activity within a few days, with some congestion while it heals.

What if the polyps come back after removal?

That can happen — your specialist will discuss ongoing management options, like nasal sprays, to help reduce recurrence.
