What is Gralise?

Gralise is an extended-release formulation of Gralise specifically approved for managing postherpetic neuralgia—the persistent nerve pain that can follow a shingles outbreak. Unlike immediate-release Gralise, Gralise is designed to be taken once daily with the evening meal, using a gradual-release mechanism that delivers the medication steadily throughout digestion. It works by calming overactive nerve signals that misfire and cause burning, shooting, or electric-like pain long after the shingles rash has healed.

Nerve signal modulation

Binds to calcium channels in overactive nerve cells, reducing the abnormal firing that causes the chronic burning and shooting pain characteristic of postherpetic neuralgia.
