10 years
Samantha Schisler, MS, FNP-BC, AG-ACNP-BC, is a dual board-certified family and acute care nurse practitioner with nearly a decade of experience across critical care, urgent care, and primary care. As a founding member of the clinical team at General Medicine, she leads training for new clinicians, making sure everyone who cares for a customer knows how we work before they see their first one.
Dr. Schisler’s training started at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, where she earned her master’s degree in nursing with dual specialties in adult gerontology acute care and family nurse practice.
Since then, she has worked as a nurse practitioner at Dallas Pulmonary and Critical Care and as an acute care nurse practitioner at Hicuity Health, where she cares for critically ill adults. She has also practiced in urgent care, retail clinic, and telehealth settings, bringing the same careful clinical judgment to patients with very different needs.
Today, Sam draws on that range to teach new clinicians what exceptional care looks like at General Medicine. She trains them on how we work and how to use the full picture of a customer’s history, so every clinician is ready before the first visit.
In addition to leading training, Sam continues to see patients at General Medicine and keeps her teaching expertise grounded in the day-to-day work.
