Jennifer Chesak is an award-winning author, freelance science and medical journalist, editor, and fact-checker based in Nashville.

She holds a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and teaches in the journalism and publishing programs at Belmont University.

Her work has been featured in national outlets, including The Washington Post, BBC, Health, Healthline, Verywell Health, Real Simple, Better Homes & Gardens, and more. She also serves on Healthline’s Medical Integrity Team.

In addition to her editorial work, her cornucopia of clips showcases a robust lineup of science content for several global and national brands. She is also the author of an award-winning book exploring the evidence-based potential of plant medicine to support the health of people assigned female at birth, blending cutting-edge research with actionable insights.

Having faced significant health challenges herself, Chesak is passionate about research-backed, root-cause, and preventive medicine. She partners with health and wellness brands that are working to shift the traditional medical model to one that empowers people with the knowledge and tools to prevent, manage, and even reverse certain conditions where possible.
