Adam Carewe, MD, is a board-certified family medicine and clinical informatics physician with fifteen years of experience in primary care, urgent care, and clinical leadership. As a physician at General Medicine, he cares for customers and brings a clinician’s view of technology to the way care is delivered.
After earning his master’s degree in exercise physiology from San Diego State University and working as a clinical exercise physiologist with people living with cardiovascular disease, Dr. Carewe earned his medical degree from New York Medical College. He then completed his family medicine residency at SCL Health in Denver, followed by a year as chief resident.
Since then, he has spent 13 years at Kaiser Permanente in Colorado, where he practiced family medicine across continuity primary care, urgent care, and virtual visits. He also built the region’s physician optimization program, which trained more than 200 physicians a year, and he deployed a group of 40 physician technology leads across the medical group. He rose from Physician Optimization Lead to Director of Medical Informatics and then Chief Medical Informatics Officer, and the team he led reached the 99th percentile for EHR satisfaction.
Today, Dr. Carewe applies that background to General Medicine, where he sees customers and works to make sure the technology behind their care helps clinicians do their jobs rather than get in the way. He draws on years of clinical and informatics leadership to keep every interaction grounded in what clinicians need to know the customer’s story.
