Experience

Dr. Pace began his medical career with a focus on the science behind medicine—and the people it serves. After graduating Cum Laude from Augustana College with a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Medicine and Neuroscience, he went on to earn his medical degree with Honors from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 2018.

He has spent the last several years in Philadelphia, completing his general surgery residency at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University (set to finish in 2025). During residency, Dr. Pace distinguished himself with his dedication to teaching, earning multiple awards recognizing his ability to guide and mentor future clinicians.

In addition to clinical training, Dr. Pace completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in pediatric general surgery at Nemours Children’s Health in Wilmington, Delaware. There, he conducted and published research on clinical outcomes, safety, and quality improvement—areas he continues to explore as part of his larger commitment to evidence-based, patient-focused care.

To further integrate public health into his surgical practice, Dr. Pace earned a Master of Public Health from Thomas Jefferson University in 2023. His MPH training sharpened his focus on population-level outcomes, equity in healthcare delivery, and improving patient understanding across diverse communities.

In 2025, he will begin a Transplant Surgery Fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, further specializing in one of the most complex and impactful fields in surgery.
